Letter to the 18 year old me

Dear 18 year old Ishita,

You're in your 12th standard and the whole world around you would only be talking about your board exams right now. So, there's something I want to tell you about who you are, at present, who you will be, in future.

The year's going to be tough for you in many ways, you'll lose someone close, have issues with friends and of course will have to study like crazy. But it's all going to fall in place soon. This is the moment when you're preparing yourself for what will come in the future years ahead. And trust me, like always it is all going to be fine. Whatever happens to your results, your college selections, all of it is going to be fine with time, because with time, you'll know that none of it really matters to you. You're perfect in your own way. No one can change it, so please don't push yourself to the extremes at places where you don't fit. Hold on to yourself to who you are right now.

Life can not always be the same, shouldn't as well be the same. You're going to ride one hell of a roller coaster. Don't be afraid of it. Body shaming, pimples, curly messy hair, get over this stuff. These are temporary. What will lie within you, is your inner self, your beautiful soul, your kindness which will grow fonder with time. You'll sure lose a few people in the rat race, but in the end everyone comes together to join you at the finishing line. And that's when you realize, for you, it never really was about winning the race, but to complete the race. And once you complete it, you'll see a clearer version of yourself and you'll love it.

So, compress all those hatred, sorrow, anger, anxiousness and other negative feelings and let it go. You'll have much more reasons to love and such lesser regrets in life.

Also most importantly, listen to your parents. They are the only ones who are going to love you unconditionally and be there by your side in your worst. The advices may sound rough, irrelevant or too strict at times but it is all to shape you to who you will be years from now, to you who will make them proud.

Make mistakes, they'll shape you to be the person you are now. But do not repeat them. Grow strong, grow independent, the world will always try and crush you. Turn it around with your love and kindness. Spread love and be loved.

You're to going to love growing up old and much mature.
